Last week we had the pleasure of attending An Evening Honoring Stella McCartney at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. The designer was presented with the Women’s Leadership Award in recognition of her social responsibility and philanthropy by the Fund’s Leadership Committee and Women’s Leadership Council.
A highlight of the evening was the onstage special tribute program which included a conversation between Stella McCartney and comedian friend Jerry Seinfeld. Not short of surprises, the program featured Chelsea Handler, presenter fashion model Helena Christensen and musical acts by Dhani Harrison performing “Love of My Life” originally by Everly Brothers and Wing’s iconic “Live and Let Die” alongside the SugarTones and students from Julliard. Also featured in the program where heartfelt video messages from Stella’s friends: Bono, Gwen Stefani, Chrissie Hynde, Amy Phoeler, Quincy Jones, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Winslet and Hollywood icon, Doris Day. The designer’s father, Paul McCartney was the evening’s surprise award presenter. Immediately following the program guests continued to a gala vegetarian dinner.
